This session explores the metamorphosis of payments and the mega trends we are now facing including the imminent introduction of open banking, the rapid rise of AI and machine learning, and the introduction of neo banks into the Australian market.

Open Banking: Ellen Broad, a self-professed ‘data policy wonk and data tinkerer’ has previously held roles as Head of Policy at the Open Data Institute and expert advisor, Data for Senior UK Government Minister Elisabeth Truss during her tenure in the UK. Now back on home shores, Ellen now consults to both federal and state governments, universities and CSIRO on data and the impact of Open Banking. Ellen will share with us the current state of play in Australia in relation to Open Banking, how we need to prepare ourselves and the opportunities and threats within.
